The Kabbalah Centre in the United States, and Central and South America, has its earliest roots in an organization founded in 1925 in what eventually would become the State of Israel. From that organization, the initial establishment of the Kabbalah Centre occurred in New York City in 1965.
Ultimately, the New York City center would migrate to Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Kabbalah Centre opened its doors in 1984.
In addition to its main center in Los Angeles, the Kabbalah Centre has established over 50 branches around the world. The Kabbalah Centre has an ever-growing presence in Central and South America in recent times. Cities in which the Kabbalah Centre has branches in Central and South American include:
- Buenos Aires, Argentina
- São Paulo, Brazil
- Medellín, Colombia
- Lima, Peru
- Caracas, Venezuela
- Santiago, Chile
- Mexico City, Mexico
- Bogotá, Colombia
- Panama City, Panama
- Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
In addition to the primary branches of the Kabbalah Centre in existence around the world, there also exist a myriad of study groups. In addition, Kabbalah study and education provided by the Kabbalah Centre can be accessed online as well. The number of online Kabbalah study opportunities provided by the LA Kabbalah Centre is increasing each year, and is expected to do so into the future.
The Kabbalah Centre is considered to be more liberal in accepting people into its programs than is the case with some more traditional organizations and centers. The LA Kabbalah Centre, together with its branches in Central and South America and elsewhere around the world, do not require a student to have a background in Hebrew or Jewish texts before commencing a course of study and practice in the Kabbalah.
