Raj Fernando founded the company Chopper Trading and worked as its CEO for many years. He is now the founder and chief executive officer of the company Scoutahead. Raj Fernando’s career began many years ago when he was still a student in college. He worked at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange as a volunteer. His talent was recognized and he managed to get a paid position. He gradually worked his way up into higher positions and he was able to secure a position at the Chicago Board of Trade for 10 years starting in 1991. He finally had the grit to found Chopper trading in 2002.

During his time at Chopper Trading, the company grew explosively. It began with just a few employees but at its height it had 250 members in the Chopper Trading family. Raj’s company traded on many different stock exchanges. It operated on the Nasdaq, the ICE, the Eurex, the CME, and others. Raj also gave some of his time to working with others at the Commodity Trading Futures Commission in order to support the financial industry. The CFTC had a mission of creating an environment of open, competitive, financially smart, and transparent markets. He felt these goals were important enough for him to deliver a speech in front of influential panelists in 2010 in which he educate people on disruptive trading practices.

Raj Fernando is also known for an impressive address that he delivered at the Rosenblatt Global Exchange Leader Conference. It is a prestigious industry conference that only invites the foremost experts to the table. In 2015 Raj Fernando decided to sell Chopper trading to another company. It was purchased by the DRW Trading Group. This freed Raj up for new, exciting business ventures. As a result, in 2016 he founded the Internet company Scoutahead. Scoutahead’s goal is to help professional growth and improve corporate productivity by integrating advanced communication systems. Raj is acting in the role of Chairman of the company as well as the CEO.

Raj is also a philanthropist who cares about the Chicago community. He is on the board of directors for Paws Chicago which is an organization that aims to protect local animals.
